February 8, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Kahla to National Director.

Kahla accepts this promotion after previously serving as the UPSL's Central Conference Operations Manager and successfully building out a 40-team conference.

United Premier Soccer Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are extremely proud to announce Matt Kahla as the UPSL's new National Director. Matt has worked diligently to expand Pro Development opportunities in Texas and throughout the Central Conference, creating one of the hottest conferences across the country. In the UPSL's search for a new National Director it became clear that there are a number of qualified candidates already associated and working with the league, but it was Matt's vision and work in the Central Conference that makes him stand out. He's done a phenomenal job cultivating the UPSL brand in Texas, and we're excited to see him share his vision and skill on the national level as we continue to connect American soccer through a defined Promotion/Relegation system."

Kahla, 31, was instrumental in the founding of the UPSL Central Conference, and in implementing multiple divisions and tiers as its Operations Manager since October 2017.

UPSL National Director Matt Kahla said, "I am excited to take on the role of National Director for the UPSL, I think being a conference manager and working with the 35-plus teams in Texas will help me relate to some of the other Conference Managers' questions, as well as those current teams coming into the league. It's an exciting time to be a UPSL Club, and a fan because big things keep happening every week and I am just lucky to be a part of that movement! I have to thank everyone at UPSL HQ, especially Yan Skwara and Leonel Lopez, for believing in me to take on the responsibility as UPSL National Director, and also my lovely wife Amanda for putting up with how much I talk about about the UPSL and soccer!"

Previously, Kahla served as President and Co-Owner of Keene FC (UPSL), and as a Marketing Consultant for FC Cleburne (USL League 2) during its inaugural first season.

"I believe working in the United Premier Soccer League now almost 2 years has helped me not only connect with owners, general managers and clubs, but also understand what it takes to run a club and what it takes to be a conference manager in the face of constant growth like with the Central Conference. I am excited to keep representing the league in the National Director role," Kahla said.

Kahla also is the Head of Marketing for Tuxedo Automotive in Cleburne, Tex., and has worked as a consultant for a number of Pro Development teams throughout Texas.

Kahla will promote UPSL's Pro Development structure to clubs that fit with the league's model and continue to work on securing nationwide sponsorships, among his other roles.
