United players and coaches visited the kids from the Revere Public Schools Summer Program on Thursday and even the hottest day of the season couldn’t stop everyone from having a blast. The happy campers participated in drills and exercises, as well as scrimmages. Soaring temps kept the clinic short so inside everyone went for an entertaining Q&A session highlighted by some very interesting questions. The inquiries ranged from the soccer-related, “How much do you train?”, and, “How far do you travel for games?”, to the, well, not-so-soccer-related, such as, “My friend says he has a kangaroo” (directed at Australian-born player Daniel Tesoro), and “you should go to (Name of bar) because my daddy works there.”
But the highlight of highlights was the stirring rendition of Glory Glory Mass United that greeted the players and coaches as they entered the cafeteria (shown below).
We would like to thank Megan Fidler-Carey, the entire RPS Summer Program staff, and all the kids for making it an amazing day we will never forget.
