Taunton, MA- Mass United (0-7-3, 7 pts) concluded their American Soccer League fall season on Tuesday, using an 81st minute goal from Denivaldo DaSilva to even the score against Rhode Island Oceaneers (2-4-3, 10 pts) and earn a 1-1 draw in the New England Derby. A heavy fog was present almost throughout the match, causing a 10-minute delay shortly after the start of the match.
The scoreline would remain blank for most of the match, until the Oceaneers’ Issac Addas scored on a feed from Andres Perdomo to give the visitors the lead in the 66th minute. The lead would not last for very long, as after a mad scramble in front of the net the knee of Denivaldo DaSilva would get United even in the 81st minute and secure a sharing of the points in the final New England Derby of the fall season.
The match concluded the fall season for United, while the Oceaneers still have a matchup with Ironbound Soul remaining to close out the fall schedule. Catch United in the US Open Cup this Saturday. Follow @massunitedfc on twitter and Mass United FC on facebook for all the details.
