Making Things Tough…

Mass United’s race for promotion to Division 1 of the Bay State Soccer League tightened dramatically on Saturday following a 2-1 loss to FC Americana. A win by Analog brings them even with United with both four points ahead of Milford Portuguese Club, for now, as the result for MPC’s game against Boston Gunners has yet to be posted. The day also brought a first-place-clinching win by Middlesex, over Rovers FC, giving them an insurmountable 8 point lead with two games remaining.

Mass United’s schedule the rest of the way may be the toughest of all their fellow promotion seekers. We face Division champion Middlesex on Saturday and close the season with Milford Portuguese Club on October 29th; both games are at 10am and will be played at East Boston Memorial Field.

Mass United’s season in the Massachusetts State Soccer League came to an end on Sunday with their third straight loss. Our friends at FC Lynn will have to wait a little while longer to determine their fate in the MSSL as their final game of the season against West Africans United had to be rescheduled. A win will give FC Lynn the Division 2 crown, but even with a loss promotion is still possible.

I plan to be live tweeting from the game this week so no worries if 10am is a little early for you, there’s no need to miss anything. Ten am is a little early for me, too, but that’s beside the point. Speaking of Twitter…
