Cup Clash Ahead…

Mass United faces MPS in regional qualifying for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

Mass United’s first opponent in regional US Open Cup qualifiers will be MPS, who won their first round game last week. United was awarded a bye in the first round when their scheduled opponent dropped out of the tournament. The date and time of the MPS match have yet to be decided.  This will not be United’s only shot at the Cup, however. The Riders should also be part of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) qualification process in the spring, although the exact process for determining the league’s representatives in the tournament won’t be decided until the league’s annual meeting in January.

What Off Season…

The Massachusetts State Soccer League’s indoor season is in full swing and the Riders are right in the thick of it with 2 squads sitting at 6 points, two back of first place SK Dinamo. Sunday’s games included a 4-0 win for the FC squad over last-place Albania United SC and the U23’s taking one on the chin in a 6-2 loss to ALBANET. The regular season concludes in December and the playoffs start in January. All the games are being played at the Field House in Sudbury, MA on Sunday nights.

A Temporary Farewell…

We’ll be taking a little break from the #easytriviaontwitter contest after this Monday so we’re going to make it a special one. There will be only one winner but they are going to get a Nike T-90 Strike soccer ball! Not too shabby if you ask me.
