March 6, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Houston FC's Josue Resendiz has been voted UPSL's Top Goalkeeper for the 2019-'20 Fall/Winter Season, presented by Score Sports.

Houston FC Owner Bruce Talbot said, "Josue is a special goalkeeper. He's instinctive, athletic and has lightning-fast reflexes. Nowhere was that more evident this season than the five consecutive penalty kick saves he made over the course of a four-game stretch. Most importantly for us, though, is that he takes nothing for granted and comes to train hard every day and helps develop the club's younger goalkeepers."

Resendiz started 10 games and appeared in two others for Houston FC. He played in 12 games this season for the club, and posted four consecutive shutouts late in the regular season to help the team qualify for the playoffs.

Houston FC (12-1-2 overall) finished second in the UPSL Central Conference South Division this season, but stormed through the playoffs before losing to Foro SC, 5-2, in the UPSL Central Conference Championship Game.

Resendiz was one of four finalists for UPSL Top Goalkeeper along with Robert DeVone (Santa Ana Winds FC), Etan Mabourakh (FSA Pro) and Jack Pondy (Soda City FC). Resendiz won the fan poll receiving 39-percent of the vote.
