August 26, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce La Maquina Futbol Club as a member kicking off with the 2019 Fall Season.

Now based in Fulshear (Texas), La Maquina FC will return to UPSL play in Central Conference South Division II and host its UPSL homes games in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "The United Premier Soccer League is a pretty well run machine here in Texas, and so we're excited to build out South Division II with the addition of La Maquina FC. Owner Alex Uribe has had some deep runs in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and he's back in the league with a new group of players in South Texas. The competition is getting fierce in the Central Conference, and we wish La Maquina FC every success as it prepares to return to the UPSL."

Alex Uribe is Owner and Head Coach of La Maquina FC, and previously operated out of Santa Ana (Calif.) from 2004-'18. Owner of Gold Medal Moving, a franchisee of Spirit Van Lines, Uribe relocated to South Texas in early 2019.

Mexican international footballer Julio Cesar Dominguez is co-Owner of La Maquina Futbol Club. Dominguez currently plays center back for Cruz Azul in Liga MX.

A three-time Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup participant, La Maquina FC was the last amateur club to play L.A. Galaxy (MLS) at Dignity Health Sports Park, pushing the two-time Open Cup winners to overtime in the 2016 U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round game.

La Maquina Futbol Club Owner and Head Coach Alex Uribe said, "I thought I was going to be done with soccer but my kids had a really great season in high school, and they both played varsity, and they came to me and said, 'Dad, we want to play in the UPSL. Can you build at team?' I said, 'You're asking the right guy. You know what I like to do, so let's make it happen.' La Maquina is coming back but now we'll be in Texas."

Jacen Uribe is General Manager of La Maquina FC. A graduate of Fulshear (Texas) High School, Uribe, 18, helped lead the Chargers to the Texas State 4-A region championship earlier this year. He currently is a first year student at Richmond (Texas)' Wharton County Junior College.

Taylor Uribe is a player for La Maquina FC. Uribe currently is a junior at Fulshear (Texas) High School and a member of the varsity boys soccer team.

The club soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.
