Mass United midfielder Luiz DaCuhna has been released from the hospital and will continue his path to recovery from home with his family by his side. Luiz, who was savagely attacked on Canal St. in Boston by six men on the night of May 17-18, was in ICU/Head Trauma for several days and remains on medications for pain and to reduce the possibility of seizure.
Luiz announced his homecoming to the world on Sunday with a facebook update, saying in part, “I appreciate the extreme concern and support … from everyone, it’s really meaningful to me that I have so many people who care … I thank you all for everything.” Luiz also posted a thank you on United’s facebook page, “I can’t begin to describe how much this all means to me. All this support is heart warming in many ways. Very proud to be part of this organization. Thank you all.”
The investigation into the assault is ongoing but the cowards who did this are still at large. If you have any information please call the Boston Police CrimeStoppers line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
